Painted Artwork

Dabbling in the Real World

Little Flowers in Little Vases

While I like working with my hands, I’ve spent a large portion of my life trying to convince myself that they shake a little too bad to paint.

A friend of mine got me into painting with watercolors, because the supplies are pretty inexpensive and the medium is very forgiving if you accidentally splotch in the wrong place. I make it a point to try to do something small, like the strip above or the ones below, at least once every week or so. It’s a pleasant break from the computer monitor and I feel, pleasantly enough, like I’m eleven again doing arts and crafts.

Rows of Fall. These two little strips are actually my favorite works thus far.
The Blue Vase. This is actually my largest attempt, about six inches tall.
